Grade 6 Parking Lot Crossing Guards for Holy Mass Days

Preschool 3 to Grade 6 students cross through the campus parking lot from the NW and SW doors of the school building to the Church in order to attend Holy Mass on designated days.  To improve this process and to help our teachers, the Grade 6 students have been given an orientation on how to be a crossing guard by School Crossing Guard Larry McVey so that the Grade 6 students can be given a rotation schedule to be crossing guards before and after Holy Mass during school days.  The students will be wearing a Safety Vest with super reflective stripes and high visibility color and will be holding a STOP sign.  In order to be included in the schedule, each student must return a signed permission slip.  The schedule will begin on Monday, October 26, 2015.  If you have questions or suggestions, kindly contact the school office.

PARENT EDUCATION: Dealing with Stress and Anxiety

All parents are invited to attend this October’s Parent Education opportunity led by Mrs. Melanie Greve, LPC.  The focus of this session is “Dealing with Stress and Anxiety” in the family.  Mrs. Greve will help us understand stress, the human function curve, ways to handle stress, anxiety, ways to handle anxiety, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, phobic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, medical care, self-care, prevention and quick tips to deal with anxiety and stress.  Please plan on attending on Thursday, October 8, 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the Parish Center.

All parents who will attend will comply with the yearly mandatory parent education that is part of the yearly covenant or agreement with St. Patrick Catholic Church and School and is also a requirement for yearly enrollment.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Barles at the school office.  The office has a file of the attendance of parents in these activities.

School Portrait Day PACKET

Individual school picture day for our school is on Wednesday, October 7.  Each student  from Preschool to Grade 6 must complete the form and be photographed for powerschool, forms, school media and yearbook purposes.  No purchase is necessary.  However, orders not paid for in advance will not be processed.  Please return the complete form on Monday,  October 5.

Can you be a mentor family?

May the Holy Triune God live in our hearts and in the hearts of all people!

We are blessed with another school year to provide Catholic education and formation for all our students.  Together, we can design and carry out the best faith-based experience for all our children and our families.

This year, we are inviting parents to become mentors to new families so we can help everyone feel welcome and assist everyone in participating in our school community.  Can you be a mentor family?

A Mentor family is asked to:

  • be familiar with the school parent-student handbook, school calendar, school activities, school website, school newsletters, and similar resources
  • contact the assigned new family by phone, email or letter for a self-introduction on or before August 31
  • offer time and help with any questions about school calendar, school activities, school handbook or similar topics
  • provide to the new family honest and truthful communication, correct and current information or direct the new family to a person or resource who may have the needed information
  • take time to contact the new family every month to follow up how they are doing and to remind them of meetings or activities
  • invite the new family to Sunday Mass or other prayer or faith activities in the Catholic Church or in the School
  • strive to build a faith-centered, school-supportive, life-giving and positive friendship with the new family
  • direct the new family to contact the school and the administration for ideas, suggestions, concerns or issues or for a request for another Mentor family
  • respect the privacy and comfort zone of the new family (such as by asking for the best day or time to contact every month or by verifying the need for monthly reminders or stopping any form of gossip)
  • inform the school principal on or before May 19, 2016 when the mentor-mentee family relationship is concluded by providing in person, by phone, by email or in writing a brief feedback of this mentor family assignment.

If you determine that you can be a mentor family, please call the school or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. on or before August 27, 2015 to be included in the list of possible mentor families.  The principal and the pastor will decide and assign families.  We are announcing the mentor-mentee families during the Annual PS-K-Gr6 Parents Assembly.

St. Patrick, pray for us!
